SER, MES, PRT

My new job.

There was very very very ugliest, very very ugliest and very ugliest to chose from.

Ser,Mes Prt. According to some, comes in at a mere very ugliest. (Depends if you talk to a man or woman.)

Service long V's: A healthy strong man would say, "go for it". Any woman in her right mind ( and most men) would say, "Don't even try".

Cure, blah, blah something long V's: A woman would say, " Forget it". A man would say, "Go for it". A lot of "butt" time. Loooong cure times. But.... There are five presses to run, three panels on three of the machines are the same and the other two machines have panels different. Hot. Dirty. Long reaches into hot molds to place the belts. Burns. If you build and cure slabs as opposed to belts, can be very heavy!

Ser, Mes Prt: The poll on this one is about 50 - 50 between men and women. Since I had no choice in the matter, I took it. I heard it is building and curing big belts. (Non automotive) Machinery type. Again, hot, heavy and nothing to look forward to. The only plus is, (and a lot of you won't understand), 3T3rd. I will train on third and hold third shift. The important thing to remember is, if it is a very physical job, hard, dirty and hot, do it on THIRD shift!!! Come June, July and August it will mean a slight difference in the temperature on the shift you can hold. Example: Second shift could be 120 degrees in the plant, first could be 115 degrees, and third could be 110. When you go outside for breaks, you won't have that sun beating down on you. You might even catch a slight breeze. Since I have spent the last 5 summers in the plant out of the heat, it could be very important !!!

Ser, Mes Prt: My new job. I go to on third shift Sunday night at 11:00. In layman terms.. Transmission.

Francie

Francie passed away last night. This would be my sister-in-laws brother-in-law. Bob wrote about him on his blog.

One of those "really nice" people you are so glad to have known.

My sympathy goes out to his wife Rose, their children and to the rest of his extended family.

Foot, Teeth And --------

CATARACTS !!!!!!!!!!!!

Gotta love it.

Forget Auto Zone replacement parts. Forget Car Quest replacement parts. Forget all those other big name replacement part centers for "things".

I need a body parts center for just that ------ BODY PARTS. In fact, I think you could include Bob and a few of you other readers out there.

Anybody have an address, phone number or web site for me ???????

Survived !!!

We had Dan's three boys yesterday while Mom and Dad went to get groceries at the new Wal Mart near us. They were gone 2 1/2 hrs.

Total crying time for Peyton ??? Less than 10 minutes. The first time he was just tired and crabby. Picked him up and cuddled for a couple of minutes and he was out. Only slept for thirty minutes . Wish I had had my play pen set up and I think he would have had a decent nap. Still woke up in a good mood.

The second time was later when he just decided he could take what Damien was playing with and not have to share. Grandma said no !!! He threw himself off of the couch and landed on the floor between it and the ottoman. He started screaming. I was careful to make sure he could hear me above his noise, and I said, no problem... Keep on screaming !!! Two or three minutes later after being ignored, he got tired of that and took off to explore. Of course he got into some of Grandma's No Nos, but he hasn't learned what is off limits yet. At least my Jewel Tea didn't get touched !

Soon Mom showed up and he was safe. They didn't stay too long after that as Grandma had to go to bed for her third shift nap.

All in all, I thought it was a successful attempt at breaking him from Mommy's hip. We will keep trying this at various times until maybe, just maybe, he will realize that he can survive without Mom for a few hours.

Our Day

I made it to my dentist shortly after 8:30 and, as I expected, it didn't go well. When she was done with me I had an appointment for next Thursday morning with an oral surgeon. They are going to knock me out and pull two teeth. Then I will get a bridge. On my bottom set of teeth, in the back on each side on the gums, they noted white spots. For now they are calling them calluses. Thinking that is where I chew my food to avoid the two teeth they are going to pull. They will watch them through future visits and if there is any change they will want to biopsy them.

I then rushed to Bob's doctors office and around 11:15 I went in to a little consulting area to hear the doctors instructions with him. All went well and a follow up appointment was made for six weeks. When we finished running our errands, it was almost two when we got home. He felt great and called a few people to tell them. I read for a while and dozed on the couch for a few minutes. I woke at 5:30 and found him laying down on the bed. The back ache was back. He went to the living room, and when I got up at 8;30 he was laying on the couch and in pain. He had taken 2 Tylenol with no results. I told him to call his doctor as they had told him they took calls 24/7. He didn't argue, so you know he was miserable. The doctor said maybe it was spasms and called in a prescription for pain pills and told him to try a heating pad. If still hurting in the morning to call again. He took the pain pills and used the heating pad.

About 9:15 his friendly "Roto Rooter" from Georgia called to check on his progress. Bob didn't even feel like joking with him. Now really !! All of you who know Bob, know he must have been miserable !!

When I left for work, he thought he was feeling better. At 7:30 this morning when I got home from work he was definitely better, but the back ache is not gone. I don't know what the day will bring.

I got to work and at 11:00 we had our "safety huddle". Some nonsense the company insists on. It is also a time when announcements are made.

We were told they are surplussing 8 people in the department. Lack of work. Of course, that includes me. No job. I will go in next Wednesday morning to see what job in the plant my seniority will hold. This could be very UGLY.........

If anyone thinks this was a good day, I would hate to see what a bad day is.
